Why is creating a plan a good idea?
Many people will say that creating a plan of action is a waste of time. Well those people have the gift of being able to create amazing plans on the fly.....OR they will waste large amounts of money and/or time trying to figure out a plan as they go. So for the rest of us, it is a smart idea to create a plan of action.
Plans are like treasure maps that you create for yourself. If you create a good map, there will be a treasure at the end. Even if you end up creating a decent map that doesn't get you to the treasure, it will get you one step closer to that treasure.
Plans of action are important in most situations because it can help you see possible obstacles or issues before they happen. May of these issues can result in lost time or lost money or both. So taking the time to create a good plan of action can be a simple, free, and helpful way to get things done and done right.
When will I need a plan?
Plans are important for many different situations. Here are a few situations that I came of with:
These are only a situations that I could think of where a plan would be a good idea.
Plans are not only for new businesses. Plans can be for existing business that are taking steps to better their business.
How do I create a plan of action?
Creating a business plan is easy. It can be ask complex or as simple as you want it. For example it would simply be a small list of tasks that need to be done in order to get to that treasure. The following list could be an example of a simple plan of action for creating a Facebook ad.
Now an example of a more complex plan of action could be something like this.

I skipped a few steps in that plan but you get the idea. No matter how simple or complex your plan, the simple idea of writing down a plan will help you go through with your plans.
When you write down something and are able to cross out completed tasks, it will not only help you stay on task but it will also provide you with a sense of accomplishment.
Now in my opinion on which is better, a simple list or a complex list, I would say that each have their advantages. The simple list will help you not feel overwhelmed with the amount of work but on the other hand the complex list gives you an exact road map of what needs to be done. So either one is a good option and it all comes down to personal preference.
I will say that if you choose the complex list and your plan is going to take longer than a day, break down the list into smaller lists. Break it down into lists that can be completed in one day. This way you have that sense of accomplishment every single day. This is a little tip to keep yourself from feeling like nothing is getting finished which can be frustrating and stressful.
